How do we price our services?

When a potential client contacts us, they almost always ask (and should) what the cost of our services will be. They want to know how we price our services so that they can compare to other proposals they might have received from other consultants. At Steel in the Air, we can price our services any number of ways including fixed fee, hourly, and in some situations on a contingency basis. We don't have a price list because we have found that every cell site lease situation is different, and they all have different issues to consider.

So the first thing we do is start with a no cost no obligation initial call where we ask a number of questions about your site, the issues you are having or are curious about, and what your proposed or current lease includes. Until we talk to you, we won't know how we can best help you. In some cases, after talking to a potential client, we find out that their priorities are wrong because they don't understand the options that are actually available to them. Before you retain us, we will walk through what options are available to you even ones that you may not considered. For example, we are frequently contacted by potential clients who have received offers to acquire their leases. They contact us to determine how much more they can get for selling their lease. However, after talking to that individual, we find that they really prefer to just hold the lease and keep receiving the “mailbox money”. So we discuss the options available to them – whether it be extending the lease at a higher rate starting now, selling the lease, or waiting until closer to expiration to actually sell or extend. We don't automatically try to push you towards selling your lease so that we can make a large commission.

We do these initial calls because our goal is to help you make an informed decision – starting with whether you should hire us to assist you. Unlike some of our competitors, we won't immediately start trying to convince you that we can get you more money for selling your lease provided you retain us to find additional offers – unless that is what you want. We don't use high pressure techniques, and if you choose not to use our services, we won't accuse you of wasting our time or belittle you for your choice. We recognize that if you don't use us now, there is still a chance that you will decide otherwise in the future. We have had enough people try a competitor's service only to contact us again to help after they did not receive the services they expected.

Our services typically start at $1000 on a flat fee basis and go up from there. The more complex the situation, the more we charge to provide services. If you know you want to sell your lease and just want help getting other offers, we can do so on a contingency basis. We are happy to discuss your situation with you at no cost.
